I'm studying for an Ancient Times (music history) listening quiz, in which we are given about thirty clips of 14th-15th century song clips and asked to identify five, including their title, genre, composer, and century. It wouldn't be too hard if the majority of them didn't start with "Kyri-e-e-e-e-e, elei-s-o-o-o-n"...
The music itself is absolutely breathtaking. I am fascinated by the evolution of music across the centuries, and it makes me happy to see elements of 15th century mass chants and ballades that have made their way into modern pop music (believe it or not).
